Homeschooling in Canberra (ACT)

CEA can help make your homeschooling registration and reporting in ACT simple and stress free.

As in all States, homeschoolers in the ACT need to register with the Department of Education from ages 5 to 17. When you make your application for homeschooling in Canberra you are automatically given six month provisional registration and you can remove your children from school

After you make your application to homeschool, you are automatically given a provisional registration and you can remove your children from school. The process takes about two weeks.

Your Provisional registration is granted for 6 months. When you continue to homeschool beyond 6 months, an appointment will be scheduled with the Liaison Unit in their offices. Renewal registrations can last up to a year.

When using CEA we will provide you with full year documentation to include as your full year learning plans, which show when and how you will cover the Australian curriculum in every subject. We also provide you with the templates and information about how to tailor the program to fit your individual child’s needs. It is important to show how the program will be adapted. We are very happy to help with this process. 

The CEA program includes all the topics the Department requires: English,Mathematics, Science and Technology, Humanities and Social Science (Includes: history, geography, civics and politics, Arts (Includes: visual arts, dancing and music), Health and Physical Education, Languages
